Chelsea Smiles at Roxy

(Report by Toshi Kasai)

Who goes to a concert with nothing except chitchat on stage among songs?
Kids only want nonstop rock and roll. That is what I saw the other night at the Roxy Hollywood with the band Chelsea Smiles.

It was the text book, throw back of the early days of punk rock concerts. They hit stage, never letting the audience down during their hard driving 40 minutes set. If the Ramones were still around this would be the perfect band to open for them. The show ended in a style reminiscent of The Who with Todd Youth smashing his guitar apart on stage.

Todd Youth-Vocals, Guitar
Christian Black-Vocals, Guitar
Johnny Martin-Bass, Backing Vocals
Karl Rosqvist(Rockfist)-Drums
Jake Cavaliere-Organ, Harmonica
